How do we work?

Our mission statement is our compass

How do we work?

Our school's mission statement was developed over a long period of time in a school development process with the entire school community. It is also reflected in our school logo and forms a compass for us in our daily and long-term actions for the sustainable educational success of our pupils. Every new school development process is first checked against this mission statement to see whether it fits in with our goals.

Our namesake Fridtjof Nansen stands for curiosity, humanity and openness to the world and these values also characterize our educational goals:

We are future-oriented, sustainable, democratic and open-minded.

We support students in shaping their lives happily, innovatively, freely and well educated. Everyone is accepted for who they are. Students are encouraged to communicate, collaborate, be creative and think critically. In this way, they are accompanied on their path to becoming self-determined and responsible individuals. In doing so, the handling of current and future personal and natural resources is taken into account, as is the shared willingness to engage in lifelong learning.

All of these goals are set against the backdrop of an ever faster changing world, for which we must prepare our next generation of pupils well. To achieve this, we must constantly learn new things together with our students and cultivate a positive culture of error and allow ourselves to make mistakes.

The school program must therefore be a constantly adapting framework for this task and is displayed digitally in the tiles here on the homepage.
