After completing the university degree, the 18-month preparatory service follows.
The first phase (approx. 3 months) is accompanied by intensive preparation by the ZfsL for the practical part of teacher training. A dedicated teaching staff looks forward to the exchange with motivated junior teachers, which is usually seen as enriching and stimulating. Under the guideline 'Accepting diversity as a challenge and using it as an opportunity', the training of the skills required for the profession can be assigned to five central fields of action. In addition to observations in all year groups and initial lessons under supervision (training lessons), the trainee teachers get to know the FNRS as a future-oriented training school. This also includes the safe use of digital blackboards and books, laptops and iPads; the inclusion of modern media is an important prerequisite for teaching important media skills. In the second phase (12 months), the trainee teachers teach independently and continue to receive training lessons in their two subjects. At the end of the third phase (approx. 3 months) is the second state examination, which marks the end of the practical school training.
In all phases of the preparatory service, the training officer acts as a link between the school and the ZfsL and supports the trainee teachers in weekly training coordination sessions, among other things.
