Overnight care

School is more than learning

Lunchtime supervision

Who are we?

We - the employees of Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO) - offer reliable supervision for pupils in the fifth grade at the secondary school. We focus on social interaction within the group, supportive supervision of homework and the promotion of leisure interests.

What are we doing?

Lunch break

Educational after-school care begins with a lunch break, during which pupils can switch off from the school morning. The children can relax, eat together and organize their free time until homework. A bakery trolley offers the opportunity to stock up on food and drinks or the pupils can simply bring a lunchtime snack from home.

Completion of homework

After the lunch break, pupils are given the opportunity to complete their homework in a quiet working atmosphere (silent phase).

Participation in projects

After the silent phase, the pupils take part in a project. Three different projects are usually offered every day as part of the after-school care, for example a creative course, reading or free play. In addition, pupils can of course also take part in the school's study groups.

Supervision times

You can make binding childcare arrangements from Monday to Thursday. To ensure the greatest possible flexibility, childcare can be requested for all four days or just for individual days. You can also decide whether your child should be looked after until 2:30 pm or 3:30 pm. After-school care does not take place on days when there are no lessons (vacations, teacher training, public holidays, etc.).

Admission and costs

You will receive the registration forms for the educational lunchtime supervision from the secretary's office when you register your child at our school. Please note that

the number of places in the after-school care program is limited. If there are more applications in a school year than there are places available, the decision on admission is made on the basis of criteria. These criteria are based on the principles of work-life balance, social integration and consideration of cases of hardship. There are no costs for admission and participation in the after-school care program.

Accessibility

If your child is registered for educational after-school care, you can reach the staff in urgent cases from Monday to Thursday from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm by calling 0157-58488564. If you have any general questions about lunchtime supervision, please contact Mr. Wiezorrek (see contact persons).
